Your advisor must be accredited (and why it matters)
In Jalisco, real estate activity is regulated: there is a state law requiring anyone who provides real estate services to be registered and accredited. This is not for show: it means your advisor has vouched for their training, identified themselves before the authority, and is subject to rules of conduct. Working with someone accredited and a member of a serious association (such as AMPI) is your first line of defense against fraud and against the classic "seller" who shows up, collects and disappears.
